Satisfy Your Cravings with a Healthy Snack

Every once in a while, I have a sweet tooth that I want to satisfy. While indulging in a tasty treat once in a while and enjoying our food is important, as a physician, I am always mindful of and encourage my patients to be mindful of what they are putting in their body. The food we ingest provides information to our bodies and brains about our environment and affects a cascade of signals and processes once ingested and digested. It affects our gut bacteria, our metabolism, our insulin secretion and, of course, provides necessary macro- and micronutrients. So, when I craved brownies, I decided to create a gluten-free, sugar-free healthy brownie recipe that provides some healthy fats and fiber, without the burden of sugar and gluten.
