October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Did you know that almost 4 million women are living with breast cancer in the US? The American Cancer Society also estimates that in 2021, 2,650 new cases of invasive cancer will be diagnosed in men. Statistics show that early detection is key to increasing the chances of survival. Women whose breast cancer is detected early, while localized, have a 99% chance of survival in the first 5 years.
Many women do not experience symptoms, which is why getting regular cancer screenings is important for early detection.
