Part I of this interview provides an overview of the immune system’s response thought to lead to life-threatening consequences in Covid-19, as well as the clinical trial Dr. Pitts initiated.
In Part II of this interview, Dr. Pitts discusses neurological complications of Covid-19 that have been observed and discusses their etiology.
Dr. Pitts has earned a Certificate of Added Qualification in Headache Medicine from the National Headache Foundation. Dr. Pitts treats the entire spectrum of neurologic illness and has a personal interest in neuromuscular disorders, especially, Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune neuromuscular disease. He practices at Hudson Medical in Manhattan.
Note that this conversation is not intended to be an overview of all aspects of the above Covid-19 topics, but rather an inquiry into specific questions, observations and research.
